Week 5 review - Three-try Halai the hero for Thames Valley

Thames Valley stormed to 44-23 win over Horowhenua-Kapiti in their AA Rewards Heartland Championship match in Te Aroha on Saturday.

Thames No 8 Peni Halai starred with three tries for his side with Steven Hill, Blair Rawlins and Shane Davy getting the others.

Fullback David Harrison knocked over two penalties and four conversions for Thames' other points.

Horowhenua-Kapiti thus complete the preliminary pool stage with four defeats from five games.

Thames Valley manager Moe Williams was delighted with today's results.

"The win gives us a chance of two home games in the Lochore Cup playoffs so we are happy."
