The final placings for the Lochore Cup were affected by West Coast losing six competition points due to an eligibility breach to slip back to 16 points, allowing Mid Canterbury to step up into the semifinals.

Wanganui beat Horowhenua Kapiti 57-27 in the final round robin games on Saturday.

In the other Meads Cup semifinal South Canterbury, who beat Thames Valley 33-24 in Timaru will play King Country who had a 31-29 win over Mid Canterbury in Ashburton on Saturday.
