South Canterbury firm up Heartland lead

Wing Kalavini Leatigaga scored three tries for South Canterbury in their six tries to four win.


Wanganui suffered another loss when beaten 40-39 in Ashburton by Mid Canterbury with Jarred Percival kicking four conversions and four penalty goals for a 20-point haul for the the home team. The two teams are now fifth equal, five points behind South Canterbury.

Horowhenua Kapiti moved into second place as a result of their 52-3 win over East Coast while Thames Valley, who beat King Country 45-36 and Buller, who beat Wairarapa Bush 29-24 gained a share of third place
